COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN, ARCHDIOCESE OF WASHINGTON'S
MISSION AND PURPOSES
Mission
To support, empower, and educate women in spirituality, leadership, and service with programs that respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.
Purposes
(a) To promote spiritual growth, leadership potential, and service opportunities
for the women of the archdiocese;
(b) To promote awareness of archdiocesan activities for women
related to spirituality, leadership, and service;
(c) To be a hub through which members may speak and act
on matters of common interest;
(d) To act upon current issues in the Church and society
as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ;
(e) To promote understanding of the Church and its teachings;
(f) To collaborate with other civic and social entities and ecumenical
and interfaith groups to aid in the solution of current problems.
Affiliation
The Washington ACCW, an organization of the Archdiocese of Washington, is affiliated with the National Council of Women (NCCW). NCCW was founded by and is affiliated with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
